Rang them back on landline gave my name and address wanted me to pay balance on my account. I asked what the balance was, she gave me the wrong amount. I told her I knew they were not Octupus Energy as this was not the correct balance and that I have never been called by them before and that the number was not Octupus Energy and that I was going to report them. She put the phone down.

Just spoke to octopus it technically isn’t their number it’s a debt collector on their behalf, sigma (I think it’s spelt that way). The women from octopus did initially say it wasn’t them then had another look so they need to sort out the error in communication as it’s obviously making people think it’s a scam.

Had 2 phone calls today asking me to give information from recent invoices. The caller a foreign gentleman said the serial number on my meter didn't correspond with the information they had and he needed me to check my invoices from octupus energy. I didn't give him any information and reported it to the energy company

Had repeated phone calls from this number claiming to be Octopus Energy. When answered they asked for information to go through security which I did not provide, Although they obviously had some personal details on me. Phoned the genuine Octopus Energy number who confirmed it was not them and that it was being investigated by their fraud department.

We also received a call claiming to be Octopus asking for our security details. Refused to provide them and they offered to send us an email confirming they were Octopus. We rang Octopus to advise them of potential phishing. They confirmed this was phishing and are investigating

Claimed to be from Octopus. Asked me to go through security questions and when pushed for confirmation that they were Octopus they stated they could send an email. I queried what specifically was the issue before answering any other questions and they would not do this so simply advised that I would call them at my convenience. Octopus confirmed this was a scam.

Claimed to be from octopus. I felt something wasn’t right so said I will call back later. I didn’t and they called again I didn’t answer. So I facebooked messaged octopus and Karen confirmed this was a scam and told me to google. Which brought me here.
