Banish Nuisance Numbers

Have a video call booked and they rang to confirm, never asked me anything personal just wanted to confirm with me.

I have a notification on my social media that someone was trying to login to my account and then got a call claiming to be from Barclays who I don't bank with. So I just hung up.

Scam - Called me and left me a message. My card also got blocked by my bank.

They called me again dont answer them may be scammers.

Dont this this number they called me yesturday did not answer.

Phishing text received day before this call. They Hung up when refused to give any details, after they actually referred to the phishing text!!

So having come here and seen 75% say this number is scam I blocked it. I then received an email from Barclays and rang them. They then also sent me a notification to my mobile App to identify me! They then wanted to call me - told me the name they would identify themselves as and rang again on this number (it is obviously the number identified for all Barclays calls re fraud) and I then unblocked the number and answered on my mobile.

Left a message on my answering machine claiming there had been fraudulent activity on my Barclays account. Left a number to ring which was very convincing. Became suspicious when they asked me to key in my sort code and account number.

Confirmed official barclays, sent a notification to my app too and was able to resolve a banking issue and unfreeze my account - only something real barclays could do. Very surprised so many people calling this number a scam, they were fantastic for me and helped resolve an issue rapidly

Scammers using Barclays number do not give any details out. End call. We received call saying fraud team. Ring Barclays back. Dangerous scam sophicated.

Scam call from Barclays. Asked a fishy question so I hung up and they tried to call several times a day. Banks would never do that.

This is the official Barclays number. Ask them to send a notification to the Barclays app, which confirms it is legit and avoids you having to do security. As with any caller, never give out your pin number or passcode.

Complete scam. T Pretending to be Barclays and text me the day before to say they were going to ring me, so that I'd expect a call and maybe a bit more relaxed with given personal info. All they did learn was how wide my vocabulary can be with these absolute telephone pirates!

This is a genuine number but it is possible that fraudsters are using it to trick people too. I had a call where they sent notifications to my Barclays app, I asked them for details about me which they had and gave them nothing. I was also expecting a call of this nature.

I can see how people fall for stuff. It even started with a “this call is being recorded for quality assurance.” But something felt off when they wouldn’t say why they were calling

100% SCAM - on the phone to Barclays now who are blocking the account. The person I spoke to on the phone did request verification and seemed very convincing so I did answer but it was the end of the call that felt off as his professional tone just dropped off. Lesson learnt, be very careful. Call Barclays fraud straight away if in doubt.

Guy below me in a xxxxx. This is a scam don't relax

Had a couple of calls from this number straight after each other. Didn't answer. Rang Barclays direct on the number published on their website. People need to relax, its pretty simple, if Barclays or any bank are calling you, they have already put a temporary hold on your account, so you're covered. Never give your details to anyone who rings you, hang up and ring them on an official number. Remember that the scammers go onto websites like this and post 'its a safe' number to help fool you.

Definitely a scam. I used the land line after they called my mobile to speak to Barclays and this number has already been reported several times. It has nothing to do with Barclays

A lot of people here don't realise that it is as easy to fake the caller id 'from' telephone number as it is to fake a 'from' email address on an email as it is to fake the 'from' address on a physical letter. So, a scam call can appear to come from an otherwise valid phone number.

It is safe and valid. I was dealing with the Barclays smartInvestor people. One of them phoned me from that number. After seeing all the "it's a scam" comments here I even double checked using the online chat and yes they confirmed the number was valid and the person was on their staff.

Had 3 calls in the space of 2 weeks. 2 called the other day within the space of 30 seconds so I had 2 people on the line, I don't think either knew what I said as they just repeated they needed to go through some details regarding my account. I did mention I'd already spoken to someone previously about the same thing but didn't make any difference. I told them I was hanging up to call the bank. Called Barclays and they confirmed no one has tried to call me.

Definately Barclays Bank, (my wife works for them) and just called our landline to test as new outbound calling system for her

This phone number is NOT from Barclays Bank as they claim to be. I suggest you do NOT give them any personal information. I recommend cutting the call and doing what you can to block the number. Having seen the fake reports on this page claiming the number is "safe", just... Don't trust everything you read online. If you're not sure, contact Barclays via their website or the app. You don't have to communicate through some random cold-call number.

Had this number call me out of the blue. Knew it was a scam but played him along. I don't even have any business with barclays which 1st alerted me. Got my name wrong and rather than ask my full date of birth for a security question was quite happy just to ask my age. Told him he should be ashamed of himself and hung him up and blocked number.

I am a staff member who has to do outbound calls to customers and this is the number that will show up. The calls are recorded for security and training purposes. We can't just start talking to whoever answers the phone incase it is not our customer. Therefore to safeguard us and the customer we would need some verification info to discuss anything specific to the account.

This is the number Barclays Branch staff now have to use to call customer. The calls are recorded to protect customers and staff.

Spoke to them on this number today, line was clear and was someone from my village branch who I had actually spoken to whilst in there. Wasn’t a marketing call or anything untoward

You can go on Barclays official web site phone number checker. And it says it is their phone number. I have had bad experience with echo too. However it is safe to use if only would be possible understand what are they saying.

The number is from Barclays I called them back on their actual number and I had open ongoing case.. So is safe just only make sure Barclays can send you verification code sms or on the app

They say it’s dale from Barclays I gave my name and address nothing else when I said why do u need my birthday and what is it about they couldn’t tell me. I hung up and called Barclays they have no record of Barclays calling me so DONT GIVE THEM ANYTHING

Said they were calling from Barclays, Wanted my security details to be passed to the unknown to me caller for data protection reasons, Utter tools that have no grasp of how data protection works... They seem like a phishing scam when they call, So be cautious because they are dangerous criminals hell bent on stealing your hard earned money in a fraudulent way or maybe they are not from the bank after all and are different criminals...

I received a call from this number earlier. The call started as “this is is being recorded for safety and training purposes”. The conversation was very echoing which threw me off. They knew where my local branch was, Then asked me to go on the Barclays app and confirm some info which apparently they sent (I did not by the way). Told them nothing had come through then they rushed off the phone. Scam!!!!

Received a strange call this morning from a man with African accent who claimed to be from Barclays and apparently we had had a meeting in November at my local branch..... Not true.. Straightaway asked to confirm my date of birth, Which I said “no thank you” and ended the call.

It is Barclays Corporate Team number

Starts with auto recording that the call might be recorded. Then a woman says she is from my local Barclays account and wants to speak to me about an offer that can benefit me as I"m registered as one of their local customers. I don't have a Barclays account. She won't say exactly what the call is regarding until she takes me through security, Which requires my date of birth. I say I'm not comfortable disclosing that info and she says I'm right to be cautious as there are many scams going around

Actually not a scam but from the Barclays Corporate Team Commercial or Charities Accounts - but I expect none of you will believe me.

Call started with a recorded message saying it may be recorded for training purposes and then a woman asked to speak to me (had my full name), I said 'yes' and the line went dead. It didn't feel right.

She said she was from Barclays I didn’t give any info over the phone thank goodness

SCAM - PRETENDING TO BE BARCLAYS. Called Barclays and they confirmed no call was made to me. They had my full name and then asked for my address details which I didn't give.

I about to answer the phone until some person just hung up on me for nothing

100% scam. Said from Barclays but sounded dodgy from first word spoke so I asked questions. Q: What office do you work in? A: I am working from home. Q: What office do you normal work in? A: Manchester Q: So why are you calling from a London number? Phone went dead. They had my full name and knew I had an account with Barclays. Now trying me daily

I received a text message saying they were trying to contact me regarding my Barclays account and that they would call back in an hour. When the call came through, My phone highlighted it as "potential fraud", And so I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message either.

They said they were from Barclays, But I stopped the call in the middle of the conversation. It seemed dodgy.
