I don't have gas like most apartment buildings. Weird scam.

Caller just kept pushing me to have new meter, but had no reason other than its free. They rung-off as soon as I tried to find out who they were/represented. Elsewhere on this site this number is linked to British Gas, however I have opted to not be contracted by phone, so either scam or British Gas are not following their customers choices - either would be good reason to ignore/block.

British Gas offering a smart meter. Ironically I used to work for them. Do not get a Smart Meter unless you want to be charged 3x the price for cooking your dinner between 5-7pm.

Said they were from British Gas and offering a Smart Meter I said no and they just hung up

Robocall claiming to be from British Gas. Phoned me half a dozen times and even left a voicemail. Blocked.

See, if British Gas did not outsource their ''customer service'' on the other side of the world, they would not leak our private phone numbers.

British Gas scam, Keeps calling but leaving no message. Block the number!

+443332029470 Called my Mobile. I said hello a couple of times to silence, I hung up / ended the call. Then, a few minutes later, the landline phone THAT I NEVER USE and NEVER makes a sound. "Dinged" as if it had been contacted, then went silent.

Called twice in one evening. First was a minute on hold music, second the call was just cancelled as I didn’t speak.

Clearly a Scam. Claimed to be British Gas. Hung up when I asked them how I know they are British Gas

Claim to be British Gas... Said I don't believe this, cut off caller.... They've not recalled so must be scam!

Claimed to be from British Gas regarding the fitting of a SmartMeter. Clearly a scam and if not British Gas really need a new call centre.

I have received multiple calls from this number over the last few days. They say hello, I say hello then they put the phone down.

Answered. No vocal response. They're wasting their time if it's a smart meter scam. I won't have a smart meter under any circumstances

Pretending to be British Gas and no payments made

Answered the call then they put the phone down I was a bit worried cos the hospital has a similar number.

Called to offer me a free upgrade to a smart meter. I asked him why I need that and he said "so you don't have to send us readings and that kind of thing". Er... Ok. So when I then said I don't know anything about this he said "I can educate you about that". Er... You can do what? He hung up.

Claimed to be from British gas, saying my meters needed to be changed as were old. Not lived in this house long, so thought that could be possible.... Then said they would need my details, to open a new account.... Nope, not falling for that. Hung up on them, scammers.

Keeps calling. Recently had British Gas boiler service. Must be a scam or they would leave a message. Blocked it..

These people have some data from British gas and impersonate home care renewal. I told them I will not pay anything until I call British Gas back. I rung British Gas and they said that nobody rung me from their team

I'm sick of scam calls, I now don't answer them, usually foreign

Tried to get me to buy a new boiler. His information was incorrect. Tried to transfer me to another department. I declined and ended call.

Fraudulent call about gas meter. Said I needed to get it sorted out by them.

Unsolicited call, broken English caller: British Gas meter needs replacing - I interrupted immediately to say NO, my meter works fine. 'So you don't want your meter replacing?' - NO. Will follow this up with British Gas and a complaint to them as well as action fraud UK.

Rings no one there phone ring keeps going.. Then u have to look to switch off.

This number called claiming to be British Gas to make an appointment to fit a smart meter. I told them I didn't want one. They then said everyone is getting one "because of the covid-19" so obviously a scam, So I got very angry at which point the hung up. I suspect they are one of these firms that transfers people's accounts to an expensive supplier and they get paid for every transfer they achieve.

Had a phone call today, From someone claiming to be from British Gas about a smart meter. I told them I was not interested and ended the call.

Rather cheeky lady said she was ringing about fitting my smart meter. I said I hadn't asked for one &wasn't interested. She said she would keep phoning me. Got another call an hour later, She was laughing so I hung up.

I was worried as saw lots of comments but think they have to use different number as alot if colleagues are working from home it's definitely British gas as I check my account online and the appointment has been booked in hope this helps someone else who is worried

Said they were from British gas doing a follow up call after my last service. I have just had boiler serviced so spoke to him. He said his records show my boiler was 19 years old but it was replaced a few years ago. He said he would update the records. Did not try to sell anything.

Told me they had to fit a smart meter. Told them my landlord has to arrange. They seemed to accept this and suggested they get my landlord to call.

Someone purporting to be from British Gas, But told me that I had to install a smart meter and that it was illegal for me to refuse, And that police would be involved if I didn't agree and give my details. Scam call.

Accepted call and then caller hung up - Now Blocked

Called to arrange fitting of a Smart Meter at our property. Seemed legitimate, They had our account number and post code for security checking and didn't ask for any personal information or payment details.

Let it go through to answer phone, But they never identify themselves. Rang three times yesterday & again today. Answered the last one, But they hang up. Other sites say highly suspicious therefore I’m not answering!

Couldn't be more dodgy. Rang my work number! Not my mobile. Where did they get that?! Claiming to have gotten it from my wife. A) I'm not married B) I'm not with British Gas So what's that all about?

British asking for previous home owner (he left 16 years ago) Wanted to speak to me instead. Poor line though so couldn't hear.

British Gas calling to help with a complaint.

British gas, Operator rang me back when call accidentally ended. Glad, It meant that I didn't have to go through automated system and queue.

Called at 4. 30 on Tues, Caller hung up. Missed call from them Wed/Thur and Fri whilst at work. As below just had my boiler serviced by BG and sales call re replacing my boiler from BG.

Caller refused to speak and hung up. Possibly waiting for me to ring their number in return to see who it was..... And may be a reverse charge call

Had a number of calls from this number. Mostly ignored. How can I stop this.

Cold call from British Gas. Totally ignored the "no phone calls" on my account. Following service by engineer (Boiler passed with fling colours), British Gas trying to sell me a new boiler as mine is getting a bit old. Telemarketer told in no uncertain terms that I don't want a new boiler and definitely don't want to receive such a call on the Saturday before Christmas.

I answered but they rung off, That’s three times, So I think it must be a call centre with automatic dialling!
